This afternoon I valued a 100 mile only Renaultsport Clio 197 offered in part-exchange. First impressions of the 197 is that compared to the 182 the car performs much more as a GT, covering ground deceptively quickly, but a little less involving than the 182 models.

In time more raw versions of the Clio 197 will be available, my own thoughts are currently with a number of tuning companies and hopefully will be posting more information regarding a lighter and more precise handling 197 in the near future.

Original Clio 172 Cup For Sale

This lovely clean and well looked after car has just come into stock. It's a 2003 / 53 Plate Clio 172 Cup - the ultimate lightweight model which does without the spare wheel (carried forward to 182 model) ABS and Climate Control. It is said that these also have light-weight glass, but I've never seen that in writing. The 172 Cup saves a hefty 80Kgs and doesn't that show in the performance. Back to back with a 182 these are lightning fast with a real ability to stand on their noses when required. Naturally without ABS you have to account for this in certain conditions, but all-in-all they are a real package and now represent fabulous fun per £. The 172 Cup has the signature Speedline Turini alloys with offset ventre to add 2mm to the track. This car is in great all-round condition and has covered only 23300 miles from new. Clio Cup or Trophy - You Decide!

Just into stock an immaculate and little used 2005/55 Renaultsport Clio 182 with both Cup Packs. It's done only 1400 miles from new, dealer plus one owner - who has bought a BMW M3. Hence a short delay with the V5 while a cherished M3 number plate comes off. Finished in Black Gold, with Anthracite alloys it looks fabulous and still looks, smells and feels like new inside and out. Going for £11995 to the first to see it.

Also available a 2005/55 Renaultsport Clio Trophy number 237/500. It's covered 9775 miles from one owner who (allegedly) polished it every time it rained.
